Hi there! I’m Emily — the owner and lead photographer behind Emily Barrett Photo, a wedding photography brand rooted in Jacksonville, Florida, and available across the Southeast. I’ve been photographing weddings for the past three years, and over that time, I’ve had the honor of capturing love stories full of joy, tears, laughter, and unforgettable dance moves. I bring a calming presence, a confident attitude, and just enough hype energy to keep you feeling your best all day long.
From Planning My Own Wedding to Photographing Yours
My photography journey actually started when I was planning my own wedding in 2021. I loved all the behind-the-scenes moments — the details, the timelines, the creative elements most people overlook. That planning process lit a fire in me. I began second shooting weddings in Pensacola, fell in love with the fast-paced, emotion-filled atmosphere, and eventually booked my very first wedding (hi, Kori and Keller — I still love you two!). From that moment on, I knew this was more than a job. It’s storytelling, legacy-keeping, and a whole lot of love.
Since then, I’ve photographed weddings of all sizes and styles, from beachfront ceremonies in Florida to historic downtown venues across the Southeast. What keeps me coming back? Every wedding is unique, and that means every gallery tells a new, one-of-a-kind story.
My Photography Style & What You Can Expect
I photograph weddings in a way that lets you feel the images. My approach to wedding photography is true-to-color, relaxed, and emotion-focused. My images are full of natural light, genuine connection, and meaningful details. I believe your wedding gallery should feel timeless, not trendy — something you’ll still love 50 years from now.
I go beyond just clicking the shutter. I’ll fluff your dress, pin your boutonnière, and check in with your parents to make sure they’re enjoying the day. Couples say I bring a sense of calm to their day (even when the timeline is wild). I show up with the energy and heart of a close friend, and many of my couples turn into just that.

- I love training my two pups (both AKC CGC certified — I’m proud, okay?)
- When I’m not shooting or editing, you can find me reading a good book on the beach, baking sourdough, or gardening in my backyard.
- I thrive on outdoor adventures — hiking in the mountains, road-tripping through the South, or exploring hidden gems near home.
- I’m known for being confident, upbeat, and unapologetically myself, and I bring that same energy to every wedding day.
I love being outside, moving slow, and soaking up life in the quiet moments — and I think that’s part of what helps me see and capture the good stuff on a wedding day.
Who I Photograph Best
I work best with couples who are madly in love — like forehead-touching, can’t-stop-grinning, “we’re each other’s favorite person” kind of love.
